About us
Our Mission
Frontier Volleyball Academy is a new Non-Profit Volleyball organization dual based in Anchorage and the Mat-Su. While the club is new, the coaching staff is comprised of experienced and successful coaches in each region. The Frontier Director is Coach Amy Mestas who has been coaching youth athletes for over 25 years, led two 4A Alaska State Championship teams as the Head Coach at South Anchorage High School, and taken teams to USAV Nationals tournaments.
Why "Frontier"? The definition of Frontier: The extreme limit of understanding or achievement in a particular area. Frontier Volleyball Academy strives to grow the game in Alaska and drive toward being competitive at the national level.
To be a part of the Frontier family means setting goals and Daring Greatly to achieve them. We strive to educate the whole athlete incorporating volleyball skills and strategy, fitness training, and mental training for all club athletes (local and travel teams). We plan to offer Club Prep sessions for ages 9-14 as well as full club teams where athletes will practice three days per week during the club season.
We plan to offer competitive travel teams that will travel 1-3 times per year. We aim to keep travel trips affordable for families and maximize athlete growth by selecting the right location and division for each team. Travel will use a team-based model. Coaches will travel with the team and chaperone athletes.
Tryouts for 12U-18U is coming this November in both Anchorage and the Mat-Su.
